While the official launch date is yet to be announced, spy shots of the 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift reveal several exciting design and feature upgrades. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this new Thar special.

10 Major Upgrades in the 2025 Mahindra Thar

The upcoming Thar facelift brings ten significant upgrades that enhance both style and functionality. From exterior changes to interior tech improvements, these updates aim to give the SUV a contemporary edge while retaining its rugged charm.

Exterior Design Updates

The 2025 Thar facelift will feature a fresh grille design with double-stacked slots, giving the front a bold new face. Both the headlamps and tail lamps will adopt a sleek C-shaped LED signature, elevating the SUV’s modern appeal. The facelifted Thar will also come with redesigned alloy wheels, though the tire sizes will remain unchanged. These exterior tweaks make the SUV look more stylish without altering its iconic off-road stance.

Interior Features and Upgrades

Inside, the new Thar promises several comfort and tech improvements. The existing hydraulic steering will be replaced by a three-spoke electric power steering, offering smoother control. A large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system will modernize the cabin experience, complemented by wireless phone charging for convenience.

Other thoughtful additions include a reverse parking camera, front armrest, door-inlay power window switches, and grab handles on the A-pillars, all inspired by the premium Thar variant, the Thar Rocks. These upgrades make the cabin more practical and user-friendly for both city driving and off-road adventures.

Engine Options

The facelifted Thar will retain the existing engine lineup. This includes a 152 BHP 2.0-liter turbo petrol, a 119 BHP 1.5-liter turbo diesel, and a 132 BHP 2.2-liter turbo diesel. Transmission options remain the same, featuring a 6-speed manual across all variants and a 6-speed torque converter automatic for the 2.2-liter diesel variant. This ensures the SUV continues to deliver a familiar yet capable driving experience.

With its refreshed exterior, upgraded interior features, and reliable engine options, it promises to keep the Thar ahead in the competitive SUV market.
