New Volvo EX30 Electric SUV Offers 480 Km Range, Cameras, Radar and More

Volvo Car India has introduced the EX30 electric SUV, which the company describes as its most sustainable and stylish model so far. The starting price is set at ₹41 lakh (ex-showroom). To celebrate the festive season, Volvo is also offering a special pre-reserve price of ₹39.99 lakh for customers who book the SUV before 19 October 2025. Deliveries will begin in the first week of November 2025, and the model will be available in five different colour options.

This is the brand’s third electric model in India and it is being assembled at Volvo’s Hosakote plant near Bengaluru. Every customer will also receive an 11 kW home charger as standard.

Battery Pack and Driving Range

In India, the Volvo EX30 is offered with a 69 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Certified under the WLTP cycle, the SUV can travel up to 480 kilometres on a single charge. The rear-mounted motor generates 272 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque, helping the SUV accelerate from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in just 5.3 seconds. The top speed is limited to 180 kilometres per hour. The car also features a one-pedal driving mode, where regenerative braking allows the vehicle to stop without pressing the brake pedal.

Charging and Warranty

The standard 11 kW wallbox charger can fully charge the EX30’s battery in around seven hours. Volvo is backing the SUV with a comprehensive ownership package. This includes an eight-year or 1.6 lakh kilometre battery warranty, three years of vehicle warranty, three years of service package, three years of roadside assistance and five years of free Connect Plus digital service subscription.

Cameras, Radar and Sensors

The Volvo EX30 comes with a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. The SUV is equipped with five cameras, five radars and twelve ultrasonic sensors that work together to enhance safety. Features such as Intersection Auto Brake, Door Opening Alert and Volvo’s advanced Safe Space Technology provide protection in a variety of driving conditions.

Cabin Experience

The cabin has been designed to combine comfort with modern technology. It offers five ambient lighting themes, a 1040-watt amplifier with nine high-performance speakers and a 12.3-inch high-resolution central display. The system includes Google built-in, 5G connectivity and over-the-air software updates. The SUV also supports digital key functionality, where the car can be unlocked using an NFC card or even a smartphone.

Volvo has equipped the EX30 with a wide range of safety technologies. These include post-impact braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection with auto emergency braking, multiple airbags with side impact protection, lane keeping assistance, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera support, parking assistance, rear cross traffic alert with auto brake and oncoming lane mitigation. Together, these systems ensure that safety remains the strongest focus of the EX30.
