Skoda has added a fresh entry-level variant to its premium SUV lineup — the Kodiaq Lounge. Priced at ₹39.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Lounge trim comes in as a more affordable option compared to the Sportline and L&K versions. It is about ₹3.77 lakh cheaper than the Sportline and ₹5.97 lakh more affordable than the L&K.
The Lounge variant is positioned as a five-seater SUV, unlike the higher trims that offer three-row seating. This change gives it a unique space advantage and also a slightly different feature set.
Interior and Features of the Kodiaq Lounge
Inside, the Kodiaq Lounge takes a simpler yet premium approach. It comes with grey faux-suede and fabric upholstery, giving the cabin a fresh look. Instead of the three-spoke steering wheel and the larger 12.9-inch infotainment screen found in higher trims, this variant offers a two-spoke steering wheel and a 10.4-inch infotainment system.
In terms of audio, Skoda has swapped the 13-speaker 725W Canton sound system with a 9-speaker 100W setup. Some premium features like the 360-degree camera and gesture-controlled powered tailgate are not included in this version. However, the Lounge makes up for it with its larger boot space of 786 litres, thanks to the absence of the third-row seats. For reference, the higher trims only offer 281 litres of boot capacity.
Design Highlights of the Lounge Variant
On the outside, the most notable update is the addition of new 18-inch Mazeno alloy wheels. Buyers can choose from three colour options: Magic Black, Moon White, and Graphite Grey. By comparison, the higher trims offer additional shades like Race Blue, Velvet Red, Steel Grey, and an exclusive Bronx Gold for the top-end model.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood, the Skoda Kodiaq Lounge retains the same powertrain as the higher trims. It is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 204 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox and comes with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system as standard.

Final Thoughts
The Skoda Kodiaq Lounge is a smart addition to the lineup, offering a more accessible entry point for buyers who want the Kodiaq’s premium feel without stretching their budget. While it skips a few high-end features, it balances things out with better boot space, solid performance, and a more affordable price tag. For those looking for a stylish, practical, and capable luxury SUV under ₹40 lakh, the Lounge variant makes a strong case.
